Join a new generation of digital thinkers! AI Explorers – After School AI Academy is a hands-on, beginner-friendly program designed to introduce Maryland middle and high school students to the exciting world of artificial intelligence.

Whether your student dreams of designing the next viral app or just wants to understand the technology shaping their world, this program lays the foundation through interactive learning, real-world projects, and community connection.

Over the course of 10 weeks (Fall, Winter, or Spring), students will:

• Understand how AI works through age-appropriate lessons
• Build real-world projects like chatbots, image recognition models, and AI-powered games
• Gain confidence with tools like Scratch, Teachable Machine, Microsoft Copilot, Canva AI, and beginner Python notebooks
• Explore data literacy, responsible AI use, and how to identify bias in algorithms
• Learn about careers in AI and hear directly from Maryland’s tech professionals and educators

• Duration: 10-week sessions (Fall, Winter, Spring)
• Schedule: 2 sessions per week | 1.5 hours each
• Delivery: Hybrid format

  • Virtual option available for flexible access
